Program Overview

Human Resources Oversight of Safety

Regardless of the company make up, Human Resources usually has some or all the say when it comes to safety in the workplace. In this course we will cover the best practices on managing safety, how to create and run safety committees, and root cause analysis.

OSHA General Duties

Each industry has its own requirements specific to the type of work and machinery used. However, all employers still have to comply with the general duties clause which obligates the employer to create a safe work environment. We’ll review the general obligations and how to keep the workplace safe.

Reasonable Suspicion and Drug Testing

One of the best ways to protect employees is to ensure the workplace is free from harmful substances. In this course, we will discuss behaviors to look out for, types of policies to implement, and how to ensure its legally compliant.

Workers Compensation

This course will discuss how workers comp works, the purpose of having it in the workplace, and how to best manage your risk going forward. We’ll also discuss typical claims, how to manage leaves, and how to return an employee with restrictions.

Violence in the Workplace

One of the growing concerns amidst the current climate we live in is current or former employees taking out vengeful acts on others. This course we’ll discuss the best ways to de-escalate situations, plans for evacuation, and active shooter training.
