One Size Fits All Is Not for the Workplace

This recent non-sports article from the Boston Globe shows the gamut of arrangements employers use to keep workplaces happy and healthy. Color coded bracelets to convey one’s safety risk; upgraded ventilation systems; vaccine requirements–or not–are just some of the examples. As we all know, OSHA has provided guidance for COVID workplace safety. Problem is, no two workplaces are alike.

Chances are, a system has evolved in your workplace over the past two years. We see that regularly. Now that we have lived through the ups and downs of a pandemic in the workplace, it is a good time to review an ad hoc approach. Do your current practices align with existing policies? Are those practices followed uniformly with all similarly-situated employees across all departments? Do you know where all your employees are working? Have they all received copies of required postings, notices and policies about the workplace? Are your managers trained in supervising a remote or hybrid workforce and handling requests evenly?

Phew. It’s a lot. We have fixed-fee audits, policies and handbook update services. We have a team of smart lawyers who field employer’s questions every day. Contact us. We can help.
