Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste: The Post Pandemic Workplace

Supporting your workforce in tough times

“What do we do now?”

It is no surprise  that organizations have been more reactive than strategic over the past few years. We’ve organically grown to survive the wave of changes, rather than taking a look to the horizon. During this time, the pandemic has drawn our attention beyond infectious disease challenges to crucial issues like mental health, burnout, and employee retention. No question–it’s been a difficult few years with business BC (Before COVID) off the table.

These issues have fundamentally changed work and can open up opportunities to improve, grow, and make the workplace better. You can set a new standard of work and an improved workplace environment using tools that reflect your needs today.

Shifting away from short term solutions

Shifting away from short term solutions to a more comprehensive and strategic program addressing today’s workplace can set your organization apart. We have created a comprehensive Strategic Workplace Continuity Package that emphasizes consistency and clear communication in handling infectious disease related issues, mental health issues, and retention in the workplace.

We’ve all experienced some form of burnout over the last two plus years–especially HR. This package will address the confusion (and exhaustion) around constantly changing programs and policies by employing a strategic approach in planning for the future of your workplace culture.

The package comes in three tiers to allow you to customize your needs:

Tier 1:

– FAQs on all things infectious disease and COVID related, like what to do if someone tests positive or can an employer still require masks;

– An Infectious Disease Policy which applies to more than just COVID-19 (we are looking at you, monkeypox). An important policy to have in the wake of all we learned during the pandemic;

– Template Vaccination polices (either Mandatory or Suggested) for workers. While the government might not be requiring vaccinations, having employees vaccinated means less time out of work and having an up-to-date policy helps to encourage employees to vaccinate;

– CDC Posters on Hand-washing and Stopping the Spread of Germs which are a best practice to include in public areas and restrooms; and

– A Cleaning Log to keep up with the CDC recommended sanitizing.

Tier 2:

– All policies included in Tier 1;

– A model Telecommuting Policy for workplaces that have continued to allow remote or hybrid work;

– Model Diversity and Inclusion Policy;

– Model Open Communication and Compliant Policy (this includes general communication while at work but also rules around communicating while on vacation or sick leave);

– Performance Management – For Supervisors slide deck

– Effective Communication and Conflict Management Training – For Supervisors slide deck

– Mental Health Accommodation Paperwork and Process:

  • 2 Mental Health Flowcharts: how to handle a mental health disclosure both before and after performance issues.
  • Letter to the Employee’s Provider
  • Medical Provider Release
  • Agreement with the employee for return to work, specifically for substance abuse issues.

Tier 3

– All policies included in Tier 1 and 2;

– Employee Handbook Review to align with compliance and workplace culture and policies now.
